SURENEXUS Digital Master Demosite Description (SDL)
The SURENEXUS Digital Master serves as a central demonstration
platform within the SURENEXUS project, which aims to ensure
a fair and sustainable transition in the Mediterranean region by applying the WEFE–NEXUS
approach—integrating Water,
Energy, Food, and Ecosystems.
This demosite acts as a Smart
Digital Lab (SDL), showcasing
how digital tools, nature-based solutions
(NbS), and bioeconomy
practices can be combined
to:
- Monitor
and manage resource flows across
sectors.
- Demonstrate small-scale,
innovative solutions in
real-world settings.
- Promote community engagement and technology
acceptance.
- Support
decision-making through
data-driven insights
and scenario modeling.
The Digital Master
integrates sensor networks, data visualization dashboards,
and simulation tools to
evaluate the performance of
regenerative agriculture, waste reuse, and ecosystem restoration strategies. It also facilitates knowledge transfer and intersectoral cooperation by acting as a hub for stakeholders, researchers, and local communities.
Ultimately, the
SDL is designed to quantify
the impact of sustainable practices, enhance resilience to
climate change, and drive
mentality change toward a green economy
